The first thing you’ll need to get clear on is your vision. You need to make sure that you are aligning your business with your values and your belief system. What does all that mean? It means that before you venture off and open a business, you need to get real with yourself!

It’s better to do the work now and make a good decision then rush into it, only to open a center that is not successful or even worse, unaligned with your message.

Any new business requires the set up if systems. This will ensure your business run smoothly. What happens when you are a new childcare business owner and you haven't got the slightest clue how to ago about this? Creating policies and procedures in your new childcare business will allow you to create an environment where everyone is on the same page.

  1. Job description: write a detailed job description
  2. Marketing plan: where are you going to place your add?
  3. How to apply: fax, email, in person
  4. Who can apply: selection process: certifications, time availability, repelling those who do not fit your team culture
  5. Interview process: Strengths test, questions ready, set time and place, take notes, example of work
  6. Once hired: 3 month trial basis with 3 month contract
  7. Once 3 months is up, permanent, resign contract
