Do you have a morning routine in place?
As childcare business owners, we get so busy running the business and leading our team that we almost forget to take care of ourselves.
We all want increased registrations and quality customers but all that means absolutely nothing if as leaders we aren’t performing at our best.
Today I want to challenge you to think about carving out some CEO or ME time for yourself .
I started doing this about a year ago .Honestly I never thought that I would be that type of person to carve out time every single day to take care of myself but when I saw the difference in how I felt , how I showed up as a mom, wife and business owner I knew that I was on the right path
It's a great way to give yourself a few moments of silence to reflect on the week passed or the week coming up ahead. It gets your mind in the right place and gives you control over your day’s intention.
The good news is that this looks different for everyone.
You are the creator of this time.
It all starts with giving yourself permission to take some time for yourself.
Here are some benefits:
Starting the day with peace, positive attitude and confidence can allow us to effectively complete tasks and to handle things that come our way without constantly feeling stressed or overwhelmed. As stress increases, our immune system can become less effective at fighting off colds and viruses.
When we are constantly in a rush become overwhelmed and stressed. A sense of peace and confidence in our day can help us maintain positive emotional health and help us to become much more resilient during times of stress.
When we feel overwhelmed and stressed as business owners, our emotions can easily show up in our relationships with our staff, customers as well as our loved ones. We've all vented or taken our frustrations out on a loved one after a long difficult day.
As we start building a morning routine that allows us to feel more confident, productive, and positive, we might find that our relationships feel more positive as well.
The morning routine helps set the tone for the day. You are in control of your schedule rather than your schedule controlling you. As you start each new day, you can better focus on prioritizing your tasks and staying focused.
A consistent morning routine can offer us time to practice intentional mindfulness, meditation, prayer, gratitude as well as journaling. All of which leads to feelings of greater peace as we go through our day. Imagine a more peaceful evening just because we felt productive throughout the day.
Let me give you an example of what my morning routine looks like
As soon as 6:00 AM comes I close everything and I get my kids ready for school .
This has brought me so much peace and focus
It gives me permission to breathe before I have to start my day.
It allows me to own my day!
