The 3 secrets to a successful childcare business

There is no magical strategy to success but in this blog post, I will share 3 secrets that have brought me success in my childcare business so that you know what to be focusing on in your business.

Let's dive in!

The Secret To Success #1:Define success

What does success mean to you? For me, when I started my childcare business back in 2004, my vision for success was to hire a team of educators that LOVED working with the kids and each other, serving my community following my educational program and being able to be financially free to take time off, spend more time with my kids and never feel like. For others, success might mean something totally different. Before stressing out about " Am I successful?', ask yourself what your ideal business and life look like?

The Secret To Success #2: Optimize your day-to-day operations.

No one wants to be doing the same thing over and over...When you invest your energy doing things in your business that you feel should be easier, that’s a red light that you have a systems problem. You may feel like you’re working harder rather than smarter. I remember when I was focusing on everything in my business all day long example ordering the toilet paper, answering calls, answering to staff, painting the hallway, creating newsletters, updating my website…

I felt that I was doing redundant work and was constantly putting out fires. I felt that’s all I was doing! Implementing systems in my childcare business helped me focus on certain tasks and NOT all the things ALL the time! It gave me back my time.

Some systems that can help:

  • Enrollment procedures

  • Automating marketing

  • Creating CLEAR rules of operation

  • Inventory procedures

The Secret To Success #3: The mindset of success

Ask any successful person you know and they’ll tell you that they invest in their self-development.

Being a leader and making sure you are showing up in your best way every day takes work! Once I started working on myself, I felt a shift in my relationships with my staff, business partner as well as clients. My staff started asking me what I was doing differently because I seemed different so them...

Whether you're an employer of one of five employees, consistently working on yourself more than anything else will reward you forward immensely, not only financially but also emotionally.

Running a successful childcare business comes down to making sure you're focusing on the right tasks that will help your business grow but also making sure you are consistently investing in yourself as the leader.
