The income-generating engine in your childcare business

What are these “ income-generating tasks? I should be focusing on my childcare business?

It’s no secret that being a childcare business owner can leave you feeling overwhelmed with all the things that need to be done in your business. When I first started my childcare center I fell into the trap of being the jack-of-all-trades like many other business owners. I would work on my branding thinking this would bring in more customers. When my enrollments didn’t begin increasing I had to pause and take a good look at my income-generating tasks.

All areas matter in your business but at the end of the day, it is a business, and focusing on your income generating engine MUST be at the top of the list.

I’d love to share with you the 3 areas behind your income-generating engine that you can focus on in your childcare business. Before we dive in, let’s define “ income-generating” as being all tasks that bring income to your business.

In my experience, there are 3 areas to optimize in your childcare business that lead to income.

Attraction: This step is all about attracting the right client to your business. You do this with your social media posts, leveraging reviews, creating partnerships in your community, and investing in Facebook ads. In this step, the goal is the same: Attract the right customer to book a tour, call or contact you in order to have more information on your program.

Contact: The first point of contact is when someone books a tour with you. Your tour procedure needs to be successful meaning: it needs to convert your potential customers to paying customers. If it doesn’t then it’s time to make some changes.

Quality: You can have an amazing marketing strategy as well as a tour procedure that converts but once customers someone sign up you have to make sure that your program delivers what you promised. The quality of the service you provide is EXTREMELY important because happy customers will refer you to other clients. If the quality is NOT what you promised then all the hard work you put into enrolling your customers will go to waste. Make sure your staff, educational program, and environment are up to par.

Running a successful childcare business takes work. You’ll have to work on the business, strategies but also on yourself as a business owner.
